Scriptwriting 101

I just completed the very first rough draft outline of an episode of White Trash Heroes.

It's not the first episode of the series, I started with the Xmas episode, because it's the episode I had the most ideas for. I don't know how much of an actual script I'm going to be writing for this because I have a game plan in mind that doesn't call for writing a standard script. My scripts will map out what happens during the scene and any bullet points that need to be touched on as far as dialogue, but much of the scene will be improv. If you want to check out what I've done, you can look at the post for the "Merry Fucking Xmas" episode. It's not a completed work even by my "bullet-point" script standards, but it is a start point. I'm going to get together with other writers in the coming weeks to flesh this out and work on other episodes. The most important thing is to make sure that the narrative is done very well. And we will definately have our work cut out for us with the sets. We will need a church hall with a pulpit and pews, a Santa's North Pole at the Mall, and a home decorated for xmas, in addition to our normal set. And I get to dress up as Santa Prick !!

New Character

I came up with a great idea for a new character.

I've been thinking about it for a few days and I really like the idea.

Jonathon Hammel was talking about playing more than 1 character and I thought that he, or someone else, could put on some kind of disguise and do this.

The character is a preacher on the rare occasions that we have a scene in a church.

The conversation or whatever is going on in the seats always is more focused on than what the preacher is doing, but if you pay attention, the sermons will be old tv theme songs spoken like Sam Kinson ( or Steve Martin) talking like a televangelist.

Would definitely be used in the Xmas episode.

Not sure when else the WTH would be in a church.

The Writer's Summit !!!

I'm getting ready to plan the first writers summit.

It's not as easy as you would think.

Everybody involved in this project leads an otherwise busy and productive life and we have to schedule around that.

Plus, where the hell are we going to have this summit where we will all be able to get together and everyone will have a place to sit?

Don't think my roommates would be cool with having it here at the apartment.

But I'll be having the summit within the next 2 weeks.

I am very much trying to get some clips together for youtube in time for Xmas.

Also, anybody interested in sending video clips to us, we are accepting videos.

If we like what you send us, we'll post it on our youtube channel.

Hell, we might even include it in an episode of WTH.
